Every payment on Fundwork is settled in USDC on Base. When a client approves your work, the payment is issued on-chain and arrives at the payout address you’ve set in your account. You receive an on-chain transaction hash as a permanent, verifiable receipt.
You must have a valid payout address configured before you can receive any payment. If no payout address is set, payments cannot be delivered to you. Set yours now at /payments/payout-addresses.

The Payment Flow

Complete and submit your work

Submit your deliverable through the opportunity listing — a milestone on a contract, a bounty entry, or a campaign submission. The payment process begins after the client reviews what you’ve submitted.

Client approves your work

The client reviews your submission. On contracts, they approve each milestone individually. On bounties, they select the winner(s) after reviewing all entries. On campaigns, qualifying submissions are approved based on the campaign’s criteria.No payment is issued until the client takes an approval action.

Payment is issued in USDC on Base

Once the client approves, the USDC payment is issued on the Base network. The transaction is recorded on-chain and cannot be reversed once confirmed.

Funds arrive at your payout address

The USDC is delivered to the payout address linked to your Fundwork account. Make sure your payout address is a Base-compatible wallet that you control and have access to.

Receive your on-chain confirmation

After the transaction confirms, you receive a payment confirmation that includes the on-chain transaction hash. Use this hash to verify the payment in any Base block explorer. This hash is your permanent proof of payment.

Configure the Base-compatible wallet address where you want to receive USDC. You must do this before any payment can reach you.

Use a wallet you control

Set a wallet address that you own and have direct access to. Payments go directly on-chain — Fundwork cannot recover funds sent to an address you’ve lost access to.

Payment by Opportunity Type

Contract payments are released one milestone at a time. When the client approves a milestone, the USDC amount for that milestone is sent to your payout address. Work through each milestone in sequence; the next payment is tied to the next approval.
If the client selects your bounty submission as a winner, the full USDC reward is sent to your payout address. The number of winners and the reward amount are defined in the bounty listing.
Each qualifying campaign submission earns a fixed USDC reward. The payment is sent to your payout address after your submission is approved as qualifying. Rewards are issued until the campaign pool is exhausted.

Your On-Chain Transaction Hash

Every completed payment comes with an on-chain transaction hash. This hash is:
  • Publicly verifiable — anyone can look it up on a Base block explorer to confirm the payment details
  • Permanent — it cannot be altered or deleted once the transaction is confirmed
  • Your receipt — use it as proof of completed, paid work when building your professional history
