# Set Your Payout Address to Receive USDC Payments on Base

> Your payout address is the Base-compatible wallet where Fundwork sends your USDC. Learn how to set it and why accuracy is critical before work approval.

Your payout address is the Base-compatible wallet address where Fundwork sends your USDC when a client approves your work. Getting this right before work is submitted for approval is one of the most important steps you take as a talent on Fundwork.

## What a Payout Address Is

A payout address is a standard Ethereum-format wallet address (`0x…`) that is compatible with Base. Any wallet that supports Base and can hold ERC-20 tokens (including USDC) works as a payout address. Examples include self-custody wallets like Coinbase Wallet, MetaMask configured for Base, and other EVM-compatible wallets pointed at the Base network.

<Info>
  Your `.base.eth` name appears on your completion receipts and profile, but payments are sent to the underlying wallet address associated with that name — or to whatever address you explicitly configure as your payout address.
</Info>

## How to Set Your Payout Address

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open your Fundwork profile settings">
    Log in to Fundwork and navigate to your account settings or profile page.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Locate the Payout Address field">
    Find the **Payout Address** section under payment or wallet settings.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter your Base-compatible wallet address">
    Paste your full wallet address (`0x…`). Double-check every character — do not rely on memory or partial copy-paste.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save and confirm">
    Save your settings. Verify the address displayed matches exactly what you intended to enter.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Why You Must Verify Your Address

<Warning>
  Payments are sent **directly and irreversibly** to your configured payout address. If you enter an incorrect address, your USDC will be sent to the wrong destination and **cannot be recovered or reversed**. Always double-check your address before saving, and verify it again before your first payment.
</Warning>

Because Base transactions are final once confirmed on-chain, Fundwork has no ability to recall or redirect a payment after it has been submitted. The responsibility for a correct payout address rests entirely with you.

## Alpha Note

<Note>
  Fundwork is currently in alpha. Payout address configuration and wallet settings are subject to change as the platform evolves. Check back for updates before public launch.
